I'm sure that would be the ideal situation, but there has to be some convincing motivation to lure out the attacker. And if we mess up the first time, we probably won't get a second chance to surprise him.

That's possible, too. I wonder if there are any other connections between the people who were already victims--besides the nonhuman aspect. The attacker could be someone they've all interacted with...and they were probably all jumped when they were alone in out-of-the-way places, right?
