Case 187

You know, it's sort of nice, seeing all the happy married couples on the network today.

I know it's a curse, or maybe it's not, sometimes it's hard to tell with these things, but...either way, be happy and enjoy it!

As for me, I'm off to go have a beer. Or maybe several. Depends on if its good beer.

[Holds up left hand. Gesticulates to the ring finger. Huge honkin' rock.]

...Oh! Oh, wow.

Well, that is unexpected.

I'm pretty sure I didn't mean to get married --and I can't quite remember if I have ever been married before today. With everyone talking about how there was a marriage curse running amok, I just assumed.

It also helps that I don't know who my spouse is.

You don't?

...I'm wondering if there's somebody out there with a matching ring. This is indeed very interesting, I must say.

You don't have any memories you didn't have previously?

[identity profile] antimonycarver.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I do, but in all of them, I can't quite see their face.

I remember the first time we met (a bookstore) the first time we kissed (also at a bookstore) when and where he proposed (the national library. it was raining.) and almost every detail of the wedding, but I can't place a face.

Also, I think I've aged. My identification card says that I'm twenty three.

Still too young to get married, I should say.

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Not gonna lie, a love based around books? Sounds sort of nice.

...Maybe a bit, yeah. I mean, I'm 24, and while I think marriage would be nice, I don't think I'm ready for it.

Well, better you're 23 than 15. Heh.

[identity profile] antimonycarver.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
Until now, I didn't even think of marriage having any kind of prefacing relationship. I assumed that people just... got married. All of the details surprised me. And they feel so true.

[a grin at her own naivete. annie you're so self aware.]

I think it will be sad to have them all go away tomorrow.

[identity profile] antimonycarver.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
Also I agree. I suppose it is better to have aged and feeling a bit odd with that, rather than being the participant of something extremely illegal.

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Hanna smiles a little.]

It gives you an idea of what you'll do when you meet somebody special, anyway. This way, you have at least a little idea of what to do. Believe me, a lot of people need that preview.

The details will still be there. You just have to find them and dig them out.

And yeah, it would be weird to be married while still in school. At least the City had some sense in that regard, aging you up.

So.

[antimony carver: champion at changing the subject in the smoothest ways possible.]

No curse for you then, I'm assuming? No lucky ladies in sight?

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Not that I know of, alas. Oh well.

[identity profile] antimonycarver.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
[awkward shoulder pats.]

The day is almost over anyway, so here: [she slides off her wedding band.] You can have one of my rings, and tell everyone that you were in on it, too. It's not like I'm going to need it.

[unless my mysterious husband shows up. and I'm starting to get the sinking feeling he won't.]

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:34 am (UTC)(link)
[Who is her husband?]

Aw, Antimony...you're too nice.

[identity profile] antimonycarver.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
[oh blush central: population: antimony carver.]

It's no problem! [Perhaps that was a hair too loud.]

[ooc; I have no idea who annie's husband is. I wanted to play along with the curse (I'm going to try and hit every one. weirdness magnet.) and also play with Annie's male-abandonment issues (malebandonment?). poor annie.]

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Hanna smiles and laughs, giving her a good pat on the shoulder.]

If your husband doesn't show up, well, he doesn't know what he's missing.

[ooc: D: she does have those, yeah. Stupid Anthony Carver. As her self declared big brother, Hanna does not approve of these male abandonings. So he won't do that.]

[identity profile] antimonycarver.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
[annie laughs. a full on laugh. that's rare.]

Thank you, Hanna.

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2011-05-29 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
It's what friends do!

[He laughs and grins. Aw, Annie, he's glad he can make you smile.]
