Case 56

Now, I may not be Canadian, but I hold much respect for the country that gave us mounties and maple sugar candy. Also, they have an awesome flag. I mean, how many other countries could pull of having a leaf on their flag? None, that's who. Canada did it first and best.

So, to all my Canadian hombres out there, Happy Canada Day!

Which brings me to a related topic: The Fourth of July, aka America Day. I haven't done fireworks in forever since I think if I tried to do them at home, I'd blow something up. Or something uncool like that. But fireworks are cool, and they're tradition...

So I wanna do something with fireworks. A fireworks show...except I don't know where to get them. Any ideas? Are they even legal here? Cuz I know back home the legality of fireworks is different from state to state, but here, I don't even know...

Ah well. I'll figure it out!!

...Also, is it just me or is it sort of chilly today...?

I wonder if you should celebrate a holiday that doesn't exist...

voice; History screw, woo! :D

What? The Fourth of July totally exists. We barbecue and shoot off fireworks and act more patriotic then we do the rest of the year.

voice; ready for it? 8D

Hanna, I don't believe you see what I am getting at. For you, I suppose it signifies victory. For my world, it means nothing but failure to obtain freedom.

voice; Hahah, ready!!

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2010-07-01 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
...Oh. Right, different world thing, sorry...

voice; >D

Not a different world, Hanna. If what I read is correct, I was born on the same continent as your America. It merely isn't called that and never was.

It's just a different history.

voice; And cue the confusion!!

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2010-07-01 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
...Does that mean we lost the Revolution?

Dang. That...sort of sucks.

voice; there'll be lots of it

Washington's Rebellion ended in failure, yes. I believe one of the "founding fathers" as you would know him, betrayed the rest.

voice; Sweet. I love confused Hanna.

Benedict Arnold? We already knew that...

But that's not who you're talking about, is it...

voice; Good!

The Earl known as Benjamin Franklin.

voice; I'm gonna have to go with Hanna here. Ben Franklin? Seriously?

[identity profile] manofgnee.livejournal.com 2010-07-02 02:48 am (UTC)(link)
...No way.

No friggen way. Ben Franklin? Seriously? He wouldn't do that...would he? He didn't where I'm from...

voice; Yupp. Queen Elizabeth I had a son too according to CG

As I said: different histories. The Duke of Britannia bribed him for land and a title.

voice; Seriously? Wow, alternate history for the win!!

Huh...well...wow, weird. He was off getting support from France and being a ladies man and all around awesome guy in my world...
