So!

Tomorrow's Thanksgiving, yeah? Anybody got any big plans? Or parties going on?

[Somebody has no plans this year for Thanksgiving. Or his birthday. Which is 5 days after Thanksgiving.]

I hope so. Thanksgiving's a great holiday. Lots of food. The only problem is turkey makes you fall asleep...which isn't a bad thing if you're in a place where you can fall asleep with impunity.

...anybody know where to buy premade turkey? I think if I tried to make it myself...bad things would happen...heh.

So, it's still dark out. Can't say I'm surprised...I didn't think the stars could actually go out, but...well, City. You never fail to surprise me...

And speaking of surprises, look what I can do!

[Hanna grins and snaps his fingers, illuminating the video with a small flame at the tip of his finger.]

Cool, huh? No pain or chest issues or blood or anything! I've been using this to see around here, since it's so dark and I have a feeling the lights won't be back for a while still...comes in handy.

Now, with that all set up, I'm gonna go out and look for trouble. Can't imagine it's completely safe out there, being so dark, so...trouble, here comes Hanna!!

[Hanna is, for once, not cursed! He's savoring the rare weekend where everybody but him seems to have something happening to him.

So he's taking advantage of this and is chilling out in Xanadu, lounging on a bench with a stack of comic books.]

Man, this place may be freaky, but at least it's got the only library I know of that has actual comic books...Whole lotta them, too...

[He sighs, happily, before going back to his comic book, which happens to be an old Marvel comic book. Yep. Nothing can disturb him today.]

You know, I almost feel bad, launching these off on a curse day...not to mention that not everybody here celebrates the 4th of July.

Heck, even I find it to be an odd sort of holiday. Read a history book, you know that this isn't the day America officially declared independence, or ratified the Declaration. It was just sort of picked to be easy. And I'm still sort of shocked that I both knew and remembered that.

But! I figure, hey, who doesn't like fireworks? They're big, pretty, loud...really, they're just sort of awesome.

But plain old fireworks? BOOORING. Fireworks enhanced with runes and magic? AWESOME.

So, happy 4th of July, City! You may be cursed, you may be a gilded prison, but for now, you're home!

[And now Hanna turns on his video feed, showing off the array of fireworks that are now lighting the night sky. Some of them have been enchanted to last longer, to write words like 'Happy 4th!' and 'The Deities Suck Eggs!' (and he's well aware of the trouble he can get in for that one), some of them show little pictures, and Hanna is just loving it.]

Okay, so I nearly burned my eyebrows off trying to get these perfect, but hey, it's worth it, right?

[He grins a bit more and wipes at one of his eyes.]

I wish Sam and Gallahad could see this. They'd get a kick out of it...well, Sam would. Still sort of hard to tell with Zevran.

Oh man...I am SO glad that I'm back to normal. Talking like a pirate for one day, voluntarily? Awesome. Talking like a pirate all weekend without being able to stop? Not so awesome.

Buuut anyway, that's over, and I feel back to normal. And its great.

So, Stephen! I wanted to ask when the next poker night was? I know I've been blowing it off cuz I'm still trying to figure out the omens and whatnot...but I think I need a break. My brain hurts. And I want to meet that friend of yours from your world!!

Wow, that was...so awesome!

...this place has really weird curses. Cat macros? Seriously?

...I fricken love cat macros, and I wasn't affected. Of course.

Ah well.

Euphie...? I know we're gonna be getting together for Valentine's Day, and...well, would you like to go the Valentine's Day dance? I mean, I'm not exactly a good dancer, but...well, it sounds fun...?

I mean, if it sounds too fancy or over the top, we can do something else...

...I have no idea what to get Euphie for Valentine's Day, and I'm starting to panic. I mean, I know she doesn't like big expensive things but I need to get her something really special and unique...

...and also, I need some help trying to bake chocolate cake. Since, you know, the last time I tried to cook something, the oven came to life and took its revenge. Granted, that was curse aided but it was still pretty pissed.

Holy crap, I'm celebrating Valentine's Day with somebody.

The more time I spend in them, the more I realize just how much I HATE hospitals. They're just so...gah. Sterilizing and miserable.

...well, I guess I know what my resolution for this year should be. To stay out of hospitals by not getting horrifically injured. Let's see how long this lasts.

...I never thanked you properly for helping me. So, thank you, Sam. You're a fantastic friend, and I don't know what I'd do without you.

...And, I sorta never got to give you your 'welcome back from the dead' present. Or Dean's birthday present...now that I'm out of the hospital, would it be okay if I brought them over? I sort of thought of a better gift for you, but the general idea is the same.

...and...uh...who was the doctor who you got to help me out...? Cuz...well, I still really hate doctors, but this one wasn't too awful.

So...uh...I'm out of the hospital now. And...well, I did a lot of thinking, and I've got some ideas for our second date. I mean, if you still wanna go out. I could understand if you were mad at me for...well, having to be in the hospital due to my own stupidity again.

...and I know it's not for a few weeks...but, well...would you like to do something on Valentine's Day?

Ahhh...two days into the new year, and so far nothing terrible has happened!! I knew I had a good feeling about this year!!

So, now that all the new year's hangovers have presumably worn off, did everybody have fun? What sort of resolutions are people making?

Mine is a bit...weird. Sort of. I have resolved to make many small personal goals that I will meet over the course of the year.

See, I have trouble with giant big goals. Smaller things are easier...

My first small personal goal is to continue learning how to cook. I'm working on it, because I don't want the oven to be really mad at me if it ever comes to life again--and knowing this place, it probably will.

Oh, and I'm gonna continue to do all the stuff I did last year. Because last year was overall pretty good, with the exception of most of the curse days.

...man, I really miss the investigating. I feel so lazy, doing very little of it here...
