Case 64

[A small, slightly chubby redheaded child is standing outside of a flowershop, clutching an orange balloon as if it was his lifeline. He appears to be about 5 years old, maybe even a bit younger, but is in actuality 7. His glasses are missing, and he's a bit more freckly than he will be when he grows up, but even as a kid, he's still recognizable.

This is Hanna Cross, and he is lost.
One minute, he was with his mother in the park...and then he wandered off for a second and ended up in a strange place.

And he's scared.]

M...mu...Mommy...?

Mommy, where'd you go...?

[Hanna sniffles a bit, clutching his balloon tighter, rubbing at one of his eyes as he starts to cry.]

I du-dunno where I am...I w...wuhanna go hooome...

[Still crying and still very lost, Hanna runs off, scared, looking for his mom, before, in frustration, he returns to the front of the flower shop, kicking the wall before slumping down and crying into his knees.]

I want Mom...



[ooc: Hanna Cross, age 7!! He's a bit...healthier looking than he is as an adult, and remembers nothing of his time in the City or the people he knows as an adult. He can't do magic (at least not purposeful magic) and he can't investigate the paranormal, but he can still get into trouble. Since we don't know much about Hanna as a kid, I'm just gonna wing it as best as possible. Good luck, City, he's your problem now!!]

[Zombie walks out of the flower shop to find Hanna slumped nearby. And- wait why is he considerably smaller than normal? He kneels down a few feet in front of him.]

... Hanna?

[Noticing a child all alone.] Hello? Are you lost?

[The little boy looks up with wide eyes, wiping away at his tears. The green man looks familiar...but he can't figure out from where.]

My name is Presea. Hanna is a cool name, though.

[ Being not American, and not from Earth, she doesn't realize it's unusual. ]

[He blinks, looking at her, stunned. She wasn't laughing at his name...?]

Uh huh! [ Rocks back and forth on her heels. ] I don't know anyone else named Hanna.

[He stares at her for a minute, stunned that's she's not making fun of him or laughing at his girl name. And then, Hanna breaks out the widest grin he could manage, showing off the gap in his teeth.]

Of course! Do you want to do something? This is boring. [ Gestures at the flower shop. It's closed, that's dull. ]

[He grinned and got up.]

Oh, I forgot. This is my balloon. His name is Gallahad, my mom bought him for me in the park.

[ She looks up at the balloon with interest. ] How does it fly like that?

Mom says that they got special gas inside them that makes them float, but if I let go, the balloon will fly away. So I gotta hold on tight.

[He nodded, smiling.]

But the gas is gonna start to go away, and it won't float anymore...but that means I can keep Gallahad forever!!

[He looks a bit sad again.]

I...I was in the park with Mom...and I wandered off to go get those flowers she likes...and now I'm lost, and I can't find Mom and I just wanna go home...

[Hanna starts crying again. Mom told him to not talk to strangers, but he feels like he can trust the nice green man.]

I see... [He points to the flower shop behind Hanna.] Hey. I work in there, so how about I get you some flowers for your mom, and then I'll help you find her?
